The last day of August was indeed a big day for me! And by big, I mean BUSY, but in a good way. The morning started off with a measly twelve-mile run (did you see that post?), which gave way to both a 30th birthday celebration and a farewell celebration that night.
Now, a 30th birthday is a pretty big milestone; I’d say it’s up there with 16 (driving age), 18 (graduation age), and 21 (buy your own booze age). There isn’t much between 21 and 30, except maybe 25, and that’s only if you care about your car insurance premiums! And as such, it must be celebrated; a fabulous, classy celebration. Sex and the City made thirty fabulous, after all.
Since there were celebrations galore, I put on my best Little Black Dress (LBD), and hit the town!
When it comes to party dresses, it’s all in the details. This LBD is lower cut in the front with a band just below the bust line, giving way to the flowing A-line skirt. It is the perfect shape if you have a few things to hide around your midsection!
This LBD also has some very delicate and intricate sequin detailing on the backside. It’s why I love it so much!
Do these remind you of the pink shoes Carrie purchases for her date with Big in the “I <3 NY” episode of Sex and the City? They should! It was one of the reasons I bought them three years ago. And yes, the “Hello lover!” actually popped into my head when I saw them in the store.
And last, but not least, let’s give a few props to the MAC lipstick, in “Lickable” that ties the whole outfit together. Oh, and I maybe did my hair, in case you hadn’t noticed. If you know me, you know how much I HATE hair products, but I not only used hairspray, but also mousse! The things a girl will do to make her hair look fabulous…
If you check back tomorrow, I might be giving you a look at the “pretty in pink” you see on my fingers and toes. Hope you love my LBD as much as I do!
XOXO – K
